Why should I donate to KGLT?

KGLT is listener-supported, community-powered, and music-driven. Your contribution helps keep independent radio alive in Southwest Montana. Donations support the people, programming, equipment, broadcasting, and everyday operations that bring you the music and community voices you hear on KGLT. Every contribution helps keep us independent and on the air.

How can I make a donation to KGLT?

There are several ways to support KGLT:

Is there a minimum donation amount?

No gift is too small. Whether you contribute $5, $25, $100, or more, your support makes a difference. Choose an amount that works for you.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes. You can request that your contribution remain anonymous. KGLT will still need the information required to process your donation and provide a receipt, but we will respect your request not to be publicly recognized.

2. Monthly Memberships

What is a monthly sustaining membership?

A sustaining membership is an automatic recurring contribution to KGLT. You choose an amount that works for you, and your donation is processed each month. Monthly giving provides reliable funding that helps KGLT plan ahead and sustain programming and operations throughout the year.

Why should I become a monthly member?

Monthly contributions provide consistent support between fund drives. Rather than relying solely on a few fundraising campaigns each year, sustaining members help keep KGLT financially healthy all year long.

Can I change my monthly donation amount?

Yes! You can contact KGLT to increase, decrease, or update your recurring contribution.

Can I cancel my monthly membership?

Of course. You can contact KGLT to cancel your recurring contribution at any time. We appreciate every month you choose to support independent radio.

Will I receive a reminder before my monthly donation is processed?

Monthly contributions are processed automatically on the 1st of the month. Your initial confirmation will provide details about your recurring gift. Contact us if you need assistance managing your contribution.

3. Donation Receipts and Tax Information

Is my donation to KGLT tax-deductible?

Contributions to KGLT may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. KGLT operates as a nonprofit public radio station. Please consult your tax professional regarding your individual circumstances.

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?

Yes. Online donations generate an acknowledgment or receipt. Mailed donations will also receive an acknowledgment. Please retain your receipt for your records.

Can I make a donation in someone's name?

Absolutely! You can make a contribution in honor or memory of someone special. Please include their name and any requested acknowledgment details when submitting your gift.

Can I donate on behalf of my business?

Yes! Businesses can make charitable contributions to support KGLT. Please contact our Development Department to discuss business contributions, recognition opportunities, and other ways to support the station.

4. Matching Gifts and Other Ways to Give

5. KGLT Merchandise and Thank-You Gifts

Do I receive a thank-you gift for donating?

KGLT periodically offers thank-you gifts, including T-shirts, hoodies, and other merchandise during fundraising campaigns. Available gifts and qualifying contribution levels will be listed on our donation page.

Can I donate without receiving merchandise?

Absolutely! You can choose to decline a thank-you gift. Your entire contribution will then go toward supporting KGLT's programming and operations.

How will I receive my KGLT merchandise?

Depending on the item and campaign, merchandise may be available for local pickup, delivered to certain zones or mailed to you. Details will be provided when you make your contribution.

Can I exchange a shirt for a different size?

Please contact KGLT if you have questions about merchandise sizing or fulfillment. We will do our best to help, subject to availability.

6. About KGLT and How Donations Are Used

Where does my donation go?

Your contribution helps support the everyday operations of KGLT, including:

• Broadcasting equipment and transmission expenses.
• Music licensing and programming.

• Staffing and administrative expenses.

Why does KGLT have fund drives if it is a public radio station?

Unlike commercial radio stations, KGLT does not rely on traditional advertising revenue. Listener contributions, underwriting from local businesses, grants, and other community support help sustain our operations. Fund drives bring listeners together to support the station and ensure we can continue doing what we do.

What is the difference between a donation and underwriting?

Donations are charitable contributions from individuals and organizations that help support KGLT.

Underwriting is financial support provided by businesses and organizations in exchange for on-air acknowledgment. Underwriting messages follow public broadcasting guidelines and are different from traditional commercial advertising.

Is my personal information secure?
